Martí, Santiago
Hello, Santi.
Although your professional page may not be finished yet, I would like to upload some information about you to the Writers-Illustrators section of our new website. Could you send me a photograph of yourself (any self-portrait you wish) and a brief curriculum with the information you prefer to share?
Thank you!
Best,
Vicente

Hello Vicente.
I am not sending you a self-portrait as you requested (I only have one from thirty years ago), I would rather send you a portrait, and if it is by my daughter Carmen even better, she has always had an excellent criteria for framing. I have attached it at the end of this e-mail.
In regards to the text, I am finding it difficult. I have read some of the introductory texts of the writers-illustrators of the website to see if I could copy an idea, but it would be too obvious. Besides, there are some very good professionals in the roster of these texts; starting with Leonardo Padura, passing through Herrín Hidalgo, and finishing with Juan Manuel Bonet, for example.
Also, saying something about myself feels strange, since I am still getting to know me. But, in any case, when people approach the website and click on my picture to find out who I am and what I have done with Media Vaca, they should know that I am a photographer and that I always try to do my job to the best of my ability. Since I am being introduced to the public, perhaps they would be interested to know that I have been working in this profession for more than thirty years, that I was born in Valencia in 1963 and I still live here, that my I.D. card and yours are differentiated only by the last two numbers, and that there are many things I have yet to learn, which I list in a notebook. When I have already learned them or tried them out, I cross them off, but along the way I come up with new things to add and the list fills up with scribbles and new rows.
I think I will send José María Pagés an e-mail so he can write a decent text at Media Vaca’s level.
Best,
Santi

Hello, Santi.
I am sending you the text you asked for. I got it from the Internet. It is the curriculum of an occupational therapist, but do not worry because no one will notice. I have taken out a lot of nonsense and I have touched it up a bit, using synonyms and changing some words. I have included a latin phrase at the end, which always works well.
One thing, do not tell Vicente. I do not want him to think I am an idiot. I have some poems I would like to publish in Media Vaca one day. Just yesterday I was plagiarising a romance by Lope de Vega that could look very good.
Anyway, your text:
Santiago Martí is my name. In Valencia I came to the world, in 1963. For more than 30 years I have been working as a photographer.
With practicing my art and profession I am in love. Always fulfilling my duty as best as I can. If anything characterises me it is my good labour, not my I.D.
I have a list that keeps growing of things I ignore, even though I cross out those which I learn.
Of myself I will say, I am how I am. Clear is how I like things. And the minimum, words: predicate, subject, and verb.
Qualities of my graphic work I would highlight: versatility, expressiveness, originality, etcetera.
Best,
José María
