The authors of Milano are the illustrators Alessandra Panzeri and Alessandro Lecis, who sign off as Ale+Ale not because they are lazy, but because they have no time to waste. Right from the break of dawn, any self-respecting Milanese has to seize the day. This is what this book talks about with a lot of humour and some poetic license: for example, the main character is a pigeon. Not a pigeon like those we see in other cities, but an extremely hard-working Milanese pigeon.

The repertoire of activities available in a big city is unimaginable. After reading this book, no reader will be able to avoid wondering what every person they cross in the street does for a living. Perhaps we will discover that the work of the observer was our real job after all.
