Why should we avoid removing scabs? What are scabs made of? Of muck? Of Paper? Of Blood? Their intriguing story is told here. The author recommends watching scabs carefully, because they are more exciting than any TV program.
Scabs forms part of the series The Map of my Body, comprised by six titles. The author, Genichiro Yagyu, is Japanese. As a child, he had very bad eyesight and wore round glasses with a white frame that looked like slices of turnip, so at school he used to get called “turnip glasses”. This gave him plenty to think about for a while. When he got over it, he began to worry about his plump buttocks, and later on, about the holes of his nose. After looking at himself and others so much, it was no surprise he would end up making these books to get to know our body a little better and understand how it functions.
Genichiro Yagyu recommends observing scabs attentively, because they are more exciting than any television programme.
