The story of the belly button is an exciting story. What is the belly button for? Why is it this way? Do we all have a belly button? In this book, we will learn important things about our birth. When we have nothing better to do, the author recommends staring at your belly button.
Belly Button forms part of the series The Map of my Body, comprised by six titles. The author, Genichiro Yagyu, is Japanese. As a child, he had very bad eyesight and wore round glasses with a white frame that looked like slices of turnip, so at school he used to get called “turnip glasses”. This gave him plenty to think about for a while. When he got over it, he began to worry about his plump buttocks, and later on, about the holes of his nose. After looking at himself and others so much, it was no surprise he would end up making these books to get to know our body a little better and understand how it functions.
When there is nothing else to do, Genichiro Yagyu recommends staring at your belly button.
